About
M.K. Brown (aka M.K. Hutchins) often draws on her background in archaeology when writing fantasy and science fiction. She's the author of several novels, including Drift, which was a Junior Library Guild Selection and a VOYA Topshelf Honoree. She's also written over thirty short stories appearing in Podcastle, Analog, Strange Horizons, and elsewhere. Her novelette "Useful Parasites" won a Scribe Award from the International Association of Media Tie-In Writers. When not writing, she's usually with her children as they grow veggies, bake, and play games together, though not usually all at the same time.
